Is a photo series that tells us that we are all different and that is just fine. Our minds all work differently, our personalities, our environment, our days are all unique. This difference among creatives is the reason art exists.
In this series of photographs you see creatives of all mediums in places they feel most comfortable to create. Locations where emotions and passions take the front seat a PURE state where art can flow and be created from the soul.
These creatives individually as well as collaboratively inspire confidence and to be self motivated. To break the mold of what is necessarily right or wrong. Think outside the box and think with your heart. Passion isn’t about numbers and figures. Emotions cannot be contained in a jar, so why should your mind be. Be yourself, think for yourself, Express yourself.
Film Photography Why Bother?
Its True Why bother. Its so tedious. So much effort and work goes into it and for what to get a damaged film at the end. To accidentally over or under expose and not know it until it is too late.
That is exactly why you should bother.
Film Photography is its own art form and cannot in my opinion be compared to Digital Photography at all.
With so much of the world moving faster and faster and digital photography advances happening each and every day it is hard to remove yourself from the instant gratification of “CLICK” … “WOW “ nice shot.
We have become conditioned to believe that satisfaction needs to be instantaneous or else it is not worth the effort and to that I have to say its the effort that makes it even more gratifying.
When I accomplish something in seconds I move on and never think twice about it and most probably never learn from it.
Now when I take time to accomplish something, When something challenges me and puts me outside of my comfort zone such as Film Photography I learn something. But even more important I fill myself with a level of gratification that no number of followers and likes and “WOWs” can provide me. Because the struggle is what makes it real.
You don’t remember every time you tie your shoe laces but you most probably remember the first time you ever tied them yourself. The Struggle to achieve a goal reached is pure gratification no matter the size of the accomplishment.
Film Photography forces your mind and hands to slow down and think, to analyze and really see things as they naturally unfold before you. Waiting for that moment to come into view and with a snap of a shutter….the moment captured. Hopefully if you exposed properly and focused on the subject in time or had the right shutter speed set. But there sits the essence of it all. Its rawness is the Beauty behind every image. A true moment captured as a personal experience and as a memory frozen in time. Each Image now carries more with it than 1 of 500 shots taken. You remember each and every shot you capture with Film. Because Film is intimate.
